Ballet School Intensive - 5 Days

Our Intensive Ballet course consists of:

DAY ONE 

Ballet school beings with an in-depth introduction to Classical Ballet, breaking down each exercise both on and off the barre. You will focus on strength, flexibility and muscle mobility, and get a brief introduction to Pointe work. At the end of the day you will work on repertory, which will start with some historical background.

DAY TWO

Learn additional barre and centre exercises, focusing on balance, posture and improved coordination. A specific focus on pirouettes will be added and a continuation of the introduction to pointe work. The afternoon will offer a brief anatomy discussion followed by repertory class. 

DAY THREE

You will start with a morning ballet class, expanding on the foundations learnt on days 1 & 2. A specific focus on pirouettes will be added and a continuation of the introduction to Pointe work. The day finishes with some historical background for the repertory chosen for days 3 & 4 and a repertory class.

DAY FOUR

After your morning ballet class there will be a continuation of Pointe work, followed by an introduction to contemporary dance, to provide insight into alternative dance styles whose roots come from Classical Ballet. The afternoon will offer a talk regarding injury prevention followed by repertory class.

DAY FIVE

The final morning of the course will follow the same structure as day 4. The afternoon will consist of a review of the repertory learnt throughout the course, followed by an informal showing and a chance for students and invited guests to participate in a Q&A.
