The Diva Company is City Academy’s premier Diva Dance company, made up of a group of highly talented dancers. Perfect for those with some Diva or Commercial Dance experience this company enjoys weekly evening rehearsals and regular public performances throughout the year.
HOW TO JOIN
If you’re interested in joining the Diva Dance Company simple book a class starting soon in the timetable below. In the class you’ll take part in a regular company rehearsal in a relaxed setting, giving you the perfect chance to meet the rest of the group in action. Following the class, we’ll email with an invitation to join the company or suggestions for further training. The purpose of the session is so that you can meet the Company Director as well as get an idea of what membership entails and the level of performance involved.
Membership provides the opportunity to perform at a number of events throughout the year. This includes the group’s own dedicated concerts as well as performing as guests at some of City Academy’s other events.

In weekly diva dance rehearsals you will develop and work on:
- Developing and refining diva dance technique
- Building confidence and mastering performance skills
- Improving musicality, timing and styling
- Learning challenging and innovative choreography

Who can join?
The Diva Company is aimed at students who are proficient dancers. They must have previous performance experience, have taken a Diva Dance class (preferably within the last 6 months) with relatively strong dancing technique. Due to the need to strut-your-stuff, confidence in heels is also a must!
Diva Company Membership
Monthly membership fee is £80 per month. The membership fee is charged for 12 months of the year. There is a minimum membership period of 3 months. This will cover you for all rehearsals and shows for the duration of your membership. (Note: Additional cost for costumes will be decided amongst the Company each year and will be kept at a minimum.)
If you wish to discontinue your membership, our team are on hand and you would simply need to email info@city-academy.com with 14 days notice before your next payment date.
Company Director
The company is led by experienced Dancer and Performer, Lorraine Dougall. Lorraine has been teaching Diva Dance at City Academy for several years, and is a prolific performer who has been involved in musicals, shows and pantomimes both in the UK and abroad.

Company members are welcoming, passionate and sociable. We are always looking for new members, so if you have a love of performing and are looking to develop your diva dancing technique, book an introductory class to join the company for a fun evening rehearsal.
*Please note, membership to Resident Companies & the Dance Foundation Course are excluded from this offer.

To make membership fees more manageable, these breaks are accounted for within your monthly instalments across the year. This means there are no breaks in your monthly payments.

No Venue
All City Academy tutors are experienced professionals from theatre, film/TV and performance industries. So whilst they're training you they may also be rehearsing for a West End show or working on a movie. We like that and we do believe it makes a difference in class.
