If you have tried your hand at painting, but still feel like there is a lot of ground to cover, our How to Paint Classes - Improvers is perfect for you. This lively art course is not for absolute beginners, but great if you have done some painting before and want to build on what you have learnt, or if you want a refresher course and improve your technique.
Using environmentally friendly, water-mixable oil paints our experienced tutors will give practical demonstrations. You will learn how to mix and apply oil paints, and be guided through all aspects, from getting started on a blank canvas to creating a series of exciting paintings. Along the way you’ll study and compare techniques used by different artists to help develop and support your progress.

How to Paint Classes - Improvers Course Content
During the course you will:
- Develop and understanding of basic colour theory
- Appreciate the qualities of painting with oils
- Learn how to set out your palette and mix colour correctly
- Develop effective brush techniques
- Learn to blend ‘wet on wet’ paint on the canvas
- Understand how to capture light and shade
