JudoPay are a fast-growing technology company in the mobile payments space. After an influx of new employees, senior management were looking for a practical team building activity that was fun yet challenging
City Academy met with JudoPay and they asked us to meet some pretty normal business objectives, such as providing skills that can be transferred effectively into the workplace, with something out of the ordinary.
The company were looking for a tailored team building workshop that would improve working relationships between the participants, and open the floor to listening, accepting, building and developing upon each others' ideas.

If you really do want to be an actor who can satisfy himself and his audience, you need to be vulnerable.
Jack Lemmon perfectly vocalised and encapsulated the beauty of acting - it’s an art form that’s simultaneously about knowing yourself and becoming someone else.
With that in mind, we designed and delivered an improvisation workshop in a rehearsal studio, placing the JudoPay team in a space where they would both self-reflect and break out of their comfort zone, establishing a solid group dynamic.
The change of scenery to a new, neutral space was an important factor as participants were encouraged to step outside their usual frame of reference and discover new modes of communicating. The workshop began with a physical warm up and took the form of a hands on, upbeat and enjoyable series of interlinked exercises - from problem solving with scenes to adventure storytelling.
These were all formulated around the concept of 'accept and build', where participants receive information and respond in an effective way, stimulating further ideas and discussion.
City Academy delivered an outstanding Improvisation workshop that helped our management team understand the importance of being present, saying 'yes', and being aware of everyone around them. In turn, our team is working more effectively together both internally and with our customers and partners. Absolutely outstanding event that was well worth the investment of time and money.
