THE BRIEF

A senior manager responsible for in-house E-Learning approached. KPMG often use E-Learning for efficiently and effectively training their employees. As E-Learning portals are accessed worldwide across the organisation, it is necessary for the videography to provide quality content, but also be appealing and encourage employees to participate.

The key objective of the workshop was to learn how to make the learning videos more engaging for KPMG’s internal audience..

WHAT DID WE DO?

We delivered training that combined a presentation on the principles & techniques of videography with a live demonstration. By using a camera to demonstrate each technical point, the delegates were able to gain a greater understanding of each principle before moving onto the more practical session.

The second half of the training was more hands-on and the group was split in two to perfect their new skills. The teams worked on techniques such as setting up correct lighting, framing, audio & camera settings. They then developed skills for how to creatively put together a sequence of footage including angles, how to establish a scene & narrative.

Our ultimate goal was to provide an enjoyable, low-pressure scenario so delegates could learn how to operate the equipment effectively and take that knowledge back to their work environment.

WHAT KPMG THOUGHT

Delegates enjoyed learning the technical camera and videography skills and found it really helpful to then be able to put them into practice straightaway. With the majority keen to ask more questions, KPMG has proposed further follow up sessions in the future.
