Online Improvisation Course

Our Online Improvisation Course is a progressive acting-based course is perfect for anyone interested in enhancing their creative-thinking skills, acting students looking to enhance their performance skills or adults looking to boost their personal presence and confidence.

Led step-by-step by a professional actor you will work as a group to explore creative-thinking techniques that will bring your personality to the fore and help you communicate your ideas (and ideas you didn’t know you had!) more effectively. Each week you’ll come together to play acting-based, improvisation games that spark imagination and get your creative juices flowing. Tell an improvised group story, react impulsively, build on each other's ideas, listen and observe intently and connect with others creatively.

The virtual Improvisation class is a dynamic, informal and enjoyable experience. No experience is necessary, no preparation is required, no materials are needed and no homework is required.

In this course you will:

• Learn classic improvisation games and exercises to improve receptivity, listening skills and creative thinking
• Use simple improvisation tools to create stories from scratch
• Learn techniques and improve skills for working collaboratively as a team
• Explore creative ideas and concepts pushing your imagination in new ways
• Build confidence in your own voice and physicality
• Learn to work with nerves and boost confidence in a range of settings

As with all of our online acting classes, you will need:

• a device with a camera and microphone
• at least 2 metre squared to move in
• comfortable clothes so you can move freely

A note on participation: Enhancing these skills requires practical and active participation. As this is an interactive, group class all students will be required to have their videos turned on.
