Online Screen Acting Classes - Level 1

Our Online Screen Acting Classes - Level 1 are designed for those that have completed Online Screen Acting Introduction. This course will build on your basic experience of acting, expand your knowledge and enhance your understanding of principles explored in the Screen Acting Introduction course.

Each week you will hone your performance of a monologue exploring emotional state, given circumstances and character objective.

Work at accessing and tailoring your internal, emotional core to suit the role and story through selected scenes, with instant playback and feedback on your work.

In this virtual course you will:

• Understand and practise the differences between stage and screen acting
• Explore ‘script to character’ techniques
• Prepare and perform a scripted monologue to camera
• Use of dramatic improvisation as a preparation
• Understand film as a visual medium
• View and analyse yours and your classmates performances in an encouraging setting

As with all of our online screen acting classes, you will need:

• a device with a camera and microphone
• at least 2 metre squared to move in
• Comfortable clothes so you can move freely

Recordings

Please note that as this is an online course, no professional filmmaking equipment is used and any recordings taken in class will be by the tutor for in-class training purposes only. The quality of these recordings will not be suitable for external viewing by a potential agent or director.

A note on participation: Enhancing these skills requires practical and active participation. As this is an interactive, group class all students will be required to have their videos turned on.
