Toby Wharton

Toby Wharton

Toby is a professional actor with credits on stage and screen. He trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and has since had lead roles in productions at many renowned theatres, including The National Theatre and Hampstead Theatre, and has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Toby has also many television roles, and has appeared on BBC, ITV, SKY and E4.

As well as working as an actor and acting instructor, Toby has also co-written (and performed in) the critically acclaimed play, Fog. The play premiered at The Finborough Theatre in 2012 and then went on a UK tour in 2013, and is published by Methuen Drama.

Toby has taught acting to a wide range of students and has the experience of directing non-actors in his own projects. He understands that each person has their own individual needs from a teacher and has developed a way of working that can adjust to each actors process.

“I am interested in helping actors find truthful connections with the material and am very much influenced by the Meisner approach of learning to behave truthfully within the imaginary circumstances.”
